About Us

SUPERIOR SERVICE FOR 70 YEARS AND RUNNING.

OUR HISTORY

With you, to haul and back™.

In 1948, Fred Bosselman, a farmer and part-time truck driver, his wife Maxine, Fred’s brother Charles, brother-in-law Al Eaton, and Al’s wife (Fred’s sister) Charlotte, opened Bosselman & Eaton Truck Stop on U.S. Highway 30 in Grand Island, Nebraska. One of the first truck stops of its kind in Nebraska, it soon developed a reputation for great service and good food.

In 1965, Fred Bosselman built the Bosselman Truck Plaza at the intersection of the new Interstate 80 and U.S. Highway 281 at Grand Island, becoming a landmark on I-80 and successfully serving the traveling public for more than 50 years, and is still going strong today.

As the company continued to grow, so did the Boss Shop name. From 1965 to 2009, the Boss Shops grew from one to 10 shops, known for providing fleets and owner/operators with excellent service at a fair price. In 2009, Boss Shops established a national footprint when they acquired 15 J-Care Shops from Flying J. Further acquisitions new building locations continue today, with 46 locations in 23 states and growing, making Boss Shops one of America’s largest service center chains, reaching across the country from east to west and north to south.

“At Boss Shops, we are working hard to broaden our footprint across the country in the truck repair business. Our growing number of service locations greatly benefits existing and new customers. The trucking industry is constantly looking for repair facilities they can trust to do their over-the-road work for them, and after more than 70 years in the business, Boss Shops continue to fulfill that need through quality service, competitive pricing, and convenient locations across the country.”
